First, you’ll need to setup the facility for MAR printing. Click on the PMR icon. Click on the Facility icon. Edit

This is Medical Records – Facility File Maintenance, where you’ll setup the facility to be able to print MARs. You will do a basic setup for the Pleasant View group home. Type the facility number in the Facility No field and then type in the group home name in the Name field. Press the Tab key to advance to the next field. Edit

Cycle From and To dates show at the top of the MAR and denote the day the of the month the cycle is started on each month. The group home staff will initial under each date to show they have administered medication to the consumer. For this example we will use the From and To dates shown below. Enter 01 in the Cycle From Date field and 31 in the Cycle To Date field. Edit

Within the options shown here, the checkbox for Expand PMR True Sigs should always be checked. It allows the SIG codes you enter in prescription entry to show as free form text on the MAR. Other options are site specific and can be discussed with your Site Manager. Check the Expand PMR True Sigs box. Edit

The default setting for the Patient Print Sequence is to sort by Nurse station and then by Patient Name. Again, this can be discussed with your Site Manager. For this example, you’ll select the radio button for Patient Name. Edit

In the Med Sheets/Sort Options box, the standard is to print by the default: Sort by Order/Seq#, which is DMLOT. This means items coded as Diet print first on the MAR. See the orange box for descriptions. Other options are available and can be discussed with your Site Manager. Click in the Med Code Sequence box and type in DMLOT. Edit

Optional fields #1 and #2 are fields on the MAR that will print for every consumer. An example of what could be in this field is shown below. Click into the Optional Field #1, type in the below info and then press the Tab key. Edit

These are the basics needed in order to print MARs. Click the F4-Update button to save your work. Edit
