1
You'll want to be sure you've gathered the receiving pharmacy’s name, location, fax number, phone number, DEA, and requesting pharmacist’s name before starting the transfer process. We'll provide you this information as we go through the tutorial. From the PROscript main screen, navigate to Pharmacy To Pharmacy Transfer (Outside Pharm) under Misc. Edit
2
The Pharmacy To Pharmacy Prescription Transfer window will appear. Your site's pharmacy and DEA number will pre-populate. You should always verify and confirm the information is correct. For this tutorial the DEA # will be missing as this is the test site. Select the transferring pharmacist from the dropdown menu. Edit
3
Under Patient Information select the blank field beside Name. Type in the consumer name as show below, press the enter key and then select the line number. Edit
4
A list of active medications for the selected consumer will appear. For this example, you will transfer Donald's Lisinopril. Do this by checking the box next to the prescription number. Edit
5
Now you will select the search button and look for the receiving pharmacy’s information. In the Organization and City fields, type in the information shown below. Press the F4 key to search and select the pharmacy with the address shown below. Edit
7
You realize that you transfer to this pharmacy quite frequently and want to save it to your pharmacy favorites list. You'll give the pharmacy an Alias to easily distinguish it from other pharmacies. Click in the Alias field and type in the details shown below and click the Save button. Edit
8
The final step is to complete the transfer. The easiest way is to select the Fax option so the prescriptions will auto fax to the receiving pharmacy. Since we send the transfer via fax, the transfer documents will automatically be added to Docuflow, categorized as a pharmacy transfer, and associated to the prescriptions transferred. Once the transfer is complete, PROscript will automatically discontinue the prescription(s) transferred and add the details of the transfer to the notes field on line 16 in the order entry screen.
